I am thankful for the much needed rain that we received yesterday.  I know the ground is soaking it up and the grass, flowers, and trees are drinking it all in.  The storm was a true blessing.  Praying for more.  This is the driest year I believe I have ever witnessed in Texas. It's amazing what doctors can do these days. The bottom x-ray shows my broken and crushed tibia plateau. The top x-ray shows the plate and pins. I'm not allowed to put any weight on the leg for 4 months. The doctor put a bone graph (from the crushed bone and synthetic bone) where the bone was crushed to get the bone to grow. Besides the White Elephant Exchange, we had a different type of Christmas this year. Last year, Dad announced that our family was growing too big and so we drew names. He put a spin on it and said the gifts had to be homemade. As you will see not everyone participated but the majority of us did. Those that didn't participate said they would this next year. This is Tamie, my niece. She just made All Regional Band! She is the section leader of the 8th grade drum line. Although, I've never heard or seen her play - I hear she is really good. I'm glad she's my niece and not my daughter - I can't imagine having a drummer live in my house. Kody drums enough without being in a band. LOL! Congratulations and Good Luck!!!

On August 3, 2008, I took Kody to the Texas Ranger Museum. He loved it. Kody is a big fan of Walker, Texas Ranger. He got a Texas Ranger belt buckle and a Texas Ranger badge. He loved learning about all the weapons and how to make his own detective kit. The museum has a movie on the history of the Texas Rangers. It was very interesting.
